DESCRIPTION:Join Our Kid’s Glider Design Class – Starts May 31st! \nThe General Daniel Chappie James Flight Academy is offering a fun and exciting Kid’s Glider Design Class for boys and girls ages 9–13. \nWe will be accepting 15 students for this hands-on experience. The program includes a series of classes that  starts this month and continues in June and July. \n\nFirst class starts Saturday\, May 31st\, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM\nJune and July class dates are TBD\nWe will meet once a month for 2 hours\nStudents will explore how gliders are designed and will use 3D printers to build their very own glider to take home\nYou must attend all 3 sessions to complete the class (required)\n\nIt will be educational\, creative\, and completely free of charge! \nIf you’re interested\, please email us at chappiejamesflightacademy@gmail.com to register.

The event will take place on November 16\, 2024\, at the iconic National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola\, Florida. \nEvent Highlights\nWe are thrilled to announce that Michelle Curran\, a former United States Air Force (USAF) major and an esteemed pilot with the USAF Thunderbirds\, will be one of our keynote speakers. Known by her callsign “Mace\,” Curran has made history as the lead solo pilot for the Thunderbirds and was only the fifth woman to join this prestigious demonstration squadron. Her journey\, including her time as the opposing solo pilot in 2019 and leading the solo team in 2020 and 2021\, promises to be an inspiring highlight of the day. \nAttendees will have the rare opportunity to connect with trailblazing women from diverse sectors of the aviation industry. These remarkable women\, including air traffic controllers\, aviation maintenance experts\, and service members from the US Coast Guard (USCG)\, Navy (USN)\, Marine Corps (USMC)\, and Air Force (USAF)\, will share their experiences and insights. Their stories will illuminate the many exciting career paths available in aviation. \nThe event will feature a variety of interactive\, hands-on STEM activities designed to engage and educate.
