Our Mission
To introduce youth to aviation and STEM through immersive education, hands-on simulator training, and mentorship—while building leadership skills and character inspired by General Daniel “Chappie” James Jr.
Our Vision
A community where every student, regardless of background, has access to aviation education, confidence-building experiences, and opportunities that can shape their future.
The Flight Academy was started in 1996 by four Pensacola Naval Flight Instructors with a strong desire to give back to the community. All four founders are currently airline pilots and live in different parts of the country, but remain committed to the youth of the Pensacola community. During the course of the year, they make countless trips to Pensacola to build the programs, handle day-to-day operations, organize the annual Summer Camp, and teach Weekend Classes. To this day, all the pilots remain hands-on mentors to the Pensacola youth.
Who We Serve
We welcome students from 4th grade through high school who are curious, motivated, and eager to learn about aviation, engineering, or technology.

This program was founded and organized by Veterans who wanted to make a difference in the community in which they themselves have been a part of. Each has served their country with honor and used this opportunity to help give back.
