My name is Biánca Evans, and the General Daniel “Chappie” James Flight Academy has been- and still is- a major mode of inspiration and amelioration in my personal, academic, and professional life. Through the nurturing and encouraging environment provided to me when I myself was a student in 2016, I am now better able to advocate for myself when the need arises, and I can make decisions that will provide benefits not just now, but also in the future, and I am better able to work with others on tasks in an efficient manner. When I was a mentor in 2017 and 2018, I developed and cultivated skills such as active control of minor conflicts, authoritative leadership, and open-mindedness toward peers of any age group. Since my promotion to Junior Staff Member in 2019 and until this present day, I have learned to be accountable for my own mistakes, how to be responsible for people and items that aren’t my own, how to train others to execute certain tasks, and I have majorly improved in my organization, detail-orientation, and schedule/ itinerary- making skills. I have been able to accomplish important life goals such as publishing my first book, starting up my entrepreneurial business, and gaining the self-confidence to reach out for greater achievements so as to strive for improvement rather than complacence. The General Daniel “Chappie” James Flight Academy has opened my eyes, showing me how to grow a thick skin, helped me mature through the most important years of my life, and given me immaculate role models and mentors to guide me into my young adult life. I truly and deeply hope that this Flight Academy grows and prospers so that thousands-if not millions- of young children in need of a real purpose in life can be helped to set and reach meaningful goals in life, as I was able to do.
