The Chappie James Flight Academy is considered by me to be a keystone to my pilot aspirations. To hear of a man who did so much in his life when pilots and generals with melanin weren’t allowed to exist, shaped my ideals of perseverance. The intro flight at the end of the week is one of my very first logbook entries and I keep it near and dear to my heart. It’s in this same logbook that I will be writing down my last flight as strictly a student pilot and acquiring a private pilot certificate this Saturday. All of the staff and instructors have kept up with me over the years and I’m looking forward to being another part of the success story of the Academy’s and General James’ legacy.

I’m currently at the University of West Florida majoring in mechanical engineering, slated to graduate in Spring 2021. I’m hoping to one day open a small charter flight company that will offer custom, themed flights to different places around the world. I’m also writing books and hope that I can fly myself from place to place when I go on a book launch tour. I’m hoping to get hired somewhere in the aerospace industry after I graduate to get me closer to that elusive red planet.
